Raw Foods With Gia

I’m just a girl who likes raw, vibrant foods…Join me as I explore our options around whole food living and eating. My personal goal is to have raw food more readily available and mainstream.

So what is raw food?  A raw food diet consists of uncooked, preferably organic, fruits and vegetables, sprouts, seeds and nuts, sprouted grains/beans/nuts, and seaweed.  Typically, 75% to 100% of a “raw foodists” diet will be based on living and/or raw food.

Why do people eat raw foods?  There are several reasons people decide to eat organic raw foods…It is healthy, increases your energy, is easy to digest, bountiful, tastes good and is guilt free.  Ironically, people have said to me over and over again, “What do you eat, just fruits, just vegetables and just nuts?”   Actually, yes and it is amazing how bountiful this way of eating is.  There are so many fruits, vegetables and nuts to choose from. Fruit, vegetable, sprouted nut and seed combinations give us incredible alternatives to dairy free “cheese”, dairy free “milk”, wheat/white flour free “tortillas, flat bread, crackers, pastas”, white sugar free “cookies, cakes, snacks and chocolate treats”…Raw Food is known for the incredible sweets.
